Then the bail system is super corrupt as well. As much as 35-40% of the jail population is non violent offenders who couldn't afford bail. (saw that on John Oliver)

There is too much money in incarceration to change anything.

You're the problem if you think you need to stop at a flashing yellow. It's a caution or yield, not a stop. Red means stop.

I just feel like it is such a no-brainer and we should do it and move on to bigger items. I think when I hear a politician against it, I don't like them because I feel they have no common sense.

I agree. It would be a great day to have a real fiscally conservative canidate that was for federal decriminalization and let states decide on any/all social issues (gay marriage, etc.).

apparently it was a joke of some kind.

I get that the whole statement was in jest, but I feel that he really does believe you have to stop on flashing yellow.

No, he is obviously joking.
What I find so very funny is that ALL true conservatives are very big on states rights. So why is this conservative infringing on that?

This is the angle that all you marijuana cigarette joint addicts need to take, as there is no way that a states- rights loving conservative could ever effectively argue against the merits of letting each state decide for themselves just exactly what they'll allow or not allow when it comes to self-medication, IF they ever wanted to be taken seriously again the NEXT time a state's rights issue came up.

I no more have the right to tell a buncha unwashed Colorado hippie heathen whether they can smoke marijuana cigarette joints than they have to tell me if I can or can't buy, on a Sunday mind you, what real men use when they want a little relaxation time.....whiskey.

You should come on down after a huricane. Like a whole new world. Throw out the baby with the bath water. It is really fun driving around with all the blinking yellow lights.

Funny how people pick and choose issues regarding "states rights"

I thought Repubs were for more state control and Dems were for more big government. Sounds like they both play whichever side of the argument fits their purpose.

They both like big gov as long as the big gov is telling people how to live and spend as they see fit.
