I was in City Park yesterday , and noticed they had a huge fair.

What a kind of rep does the school have in regards to other private schools in the city?

I really don't hear much about the school, which isn't a bad thing.

middle school is good. since they had to basically take over st. anthony because of the archdiocese rule changes there's a lot of kids that shouldn't be there at this point.

Y'all shipped a few kids from there to Christian Brothers in Memphis right after Katrina. Thanks especially for the all state kicker.

I also saw some anonymous donor gifted the school half a mil. They must have/be doing something right.

Academically, it's a great school. It produces kids that are social awkward and full of themselves, so basically the perfect Jesuit student.

I'm also interete to see how them aliging with St. Anthony works out. It was a crappy thing the Archdiocese did to them telling them they had to expand / accept girls, and they punked the Archdiocese by the move they did with St Anthony. Terrible situation all around.

But the kids coming through St. Anthony through 4th grade and moving into CBS aren't as strong academically as CBS normal entrance student is. so, that will be fun.

I'll say this: my nephew's 4th grade football team played them and I wanted to see some of these kid's drivers licenses. They were fricking HUGE.

I'm interested in seeing how things work out through St. Anthony. I feel like things will only go down hill since they may only get to pick a couple kids for middle school instead of the whole class. They are stuck with whatever level the kids are that started in Pre-K at St. Anthony.

My son just started Metairie Academy Academy and we have to figure if:

A. Continues into Haynes for middle school and high school
B. Haynes, then Jesuit
C. Christian Brothers, then Jesuit
D. Other Catholic school, then Jesuit

I was surprised that Haynes had more National Merit Semifinalists this year per # of students than any school in the state. (Class sizes below are average grade size per school.)

Semifinalists:
Haynes: 13 of 98 (13.3%)
Jesuit: 22 of 275 (8%)
Ben Franklin: 23 of 219 (10.5%)

RIP Brother Ambrose.

Dude beat the shite out of us every day. He had his diamond jubilee the year I was in 5th.

Can't forget Mr. Don either:

"Alright gentlemen, I got some material here for ya..."

It's probably going downhill. It has amenities like a four seasons now. The kids coming out of there these days are probably a bunch of powder puffs.

The infatuation with Jesuit is disgusting.
