How big of a deal is it to change hotel rooms?

I was in the service industry for years and actual managed hostels and hotels in Central America so I try not to be a needy or demanding guest, but whoever stayed here before me was obviously of the dot Indian persuasion and curry bombed the hell out of this place (room with a kitchenette and fridge).

Been here three hours and still haven't gone nose blind.

Damn Indians are an aromatic people.

75+ night a year. First thing I do is a 2 minute check of the basics before un packing. If something's wrong I'm calling the FD for a new room.

worth a quick move of your bags IMHO.

I checked in a hotel last month, 100 degrees outside. They had the a/c set on 77, and it had to be hotter than that. I switched rooms.

It's already all over your clothes and hair.

Damage is done. Embrace it at this point.

Because I didn't manage in this country. And honestly, it want that common for world trip travelers to change rooms. They were just looking for a place to throw their stuff and pass out until dawn.

Just be nice about it. Was out if town for work last week and ended up on a floor with some guys having a bachelor party. After the first night I just told them the situation and asked and they didn't seem to have an issue moving me to another floor.
