ETA: Never mind. Their unlimited data (no throttling) is $120 per month for 4 phones. That's very inexpensive for 4 phones (unlimited everything).
That's a great deal. I was going to say, their unlimited has no throttling. My $50 plan does after 5GB, but I never go beyond 3 or 4 anyway. If their coverage works for you, I don't get why people will continue to get raped by AT&T and Verizon...

I agree with ya. Unfortunately, we travel around. I viewed a lot of the areas that we travel and quite a bit of that area has no coverage, and that won't work.
Was kinda shocked to see how much of I-55 going up into MS isn't covered by TMobile.

Yeah, that sucks if that's the case. I'm sure they will get better in time, but you need to have good coverage now. TMob pisses me off sometimes in Hawaii too when I go to the other islands.
But overall, it seems to do well for me. I also like that it is a GSM phone since I do travel internationally and can just pop in a SIM. Although, now TMob has some really good deal for international built into their plans and SIMs.
I had Sprint for like 15 years and finally threw in the towel. The data is a joke.

My contract is up with Verizon in three weeks, and here's a rundown of what I use and pay $100/month for:
~150 minutes
~800 text
~1.5G of data (mostly Pandora and web browsing, a game download here and there)
I'm considering going to StraightTalk, but wondering if anyone else had any good suggestions for me to check out. My current phone is the Droid 4, which I like, but I'm definitely due for an upgrade.
Any suggestions?

Lowered my bill and on the phone with ATT about my DSL. They will give me a better rate by switching to uverse internet and "fiber" that is nowhere near my house?!? Sounds like a load of .....and is just switching home phone to voip.

Keep in mind that 4g it's only available on straight talk with gsm (att/T-Mobile) phones. Cdma phones are limited to 3g data rates.
Having said all that, you are getting fricking raped by Verizon.

No doubt. Zantrix, you can get a better deal from Verizon themselves. How is this possible? Do you have other stuff going on? $100 for that small bit of minutes and data?
Ok, either way, if you can get away with so few minutes and data, then you could basically pick any company you want and save a shite ton of money. Check the coverage map in your area for TMob, AT&T, and whoever else you may want. For $60/month you'd be set with unlimited talk and text and unlimited data (2.5 GB of LTE speed) with TMob. You'd be covered for sure and save $40 every month.
Or you can probably look into Page Plus, Straight Talk, Virgin, or a whole bunch of other ones for the little you use. Most important for you obviously is coverage. But you can likely be paying about $30-$40/month and be happy.
How is Verizon charging you this much?

I used to travel all over the country and signed a 2 yr contract a couple of years ago and kept my 450 min/unl data and text plan which was like $85 +tax. Now I have no use for that many minutes or that much data.
I'm looking into TMobile/StraightTalk/Ting. TMobile seems to be the best if I were to sign a 2yr deal - $60/month for Unl talk/text with 2.5G of data. Not sure how their quality is around here. I'm not too keen on going back to AT&T - had them from the Cingular days with the Nokia phones up until '08 and hated it, not sure if they've changed enough for me to go back. I'm going to be going to Verizon to see what they can do for me to get my bill down.

I can't find this 1 gig plan. I found online a 300 mb shared plan for 100 bucks. I went to one of att's stores yesterday and they quoted me 2 gigs shared for 105 a month, I accepted. But then when I look today they have me signed up for the 2 gig 135 dollar plan.
I sure would like this 95 dollar shared plan though.

And here is everyone thinking ATT is doing some kind of charity by giving away large data plans (10GB) and at a reduced per month cost. Come on guys...
"If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is."
Yep. This has been talked out quite a bit in this thread already, but I'll reiterate it. At first I thought that they were actually dropping their prices. Not true at all. I put together an excel spreadsheet and over a 10 year period, it would essentially be the exact same price as we would pay now with our current family plan. This is from the perspective of a family of 4 doing a shared plan with 10gb of data switching to the same 10gb shared data plan and utilizing the AT&T next plan. If you stick with the 2-year contracts after switching to their new plans, your price will actually increase.

My problem with Tmobile is traveling and not having a signal.
In a ddition to just having signal when I vacation (disney and the like) I know 100% that I'll have service with Verizon, but TMobile is sketchy at best from what I've heard.

Or, if you don't upgrade new phones every 2 years, you can save a lot of money
At least that's how it is with TMob. Not sure with AT&T.

Verizon 2Gb plan forces one not to use network data

Just FYI, but If you are a teacher (other professions I have heard as well) you can get a 15% discount on your bill.
Here's the kicker--it not off the whole bill, just the part for the phone, not text or data. So if plan is 50, and text is 10 and data is $20, you only get the % off the 50, not the 10 or 20. Still you save $8-10 on this example. More if plan is higher.
I plan on switching to straight talk when my wife's contract runs out in October.

Bump
If I have one phone out of contract with ATT, can I sign up for 2 year contract, get an iphone 5s and go on the new plan a couple of days later?

ETA: Check the FAQ of the new AT&T plan to see if it's right for you because it does change your upgrade pricing by charging more for new phones you get through AT&T. For me when I upgrade it will essentially go back to the price I was paying before.
I just upgraded to the Next plan because my monthly bill is now $20 cheaper for the shared plan with the wife, but I can now get a new phone every year, so that works out for me.
Note 3 ftw!!!
