Build a box with a hole small enough for a rat but not a cat. Put rat traps in there.

They are bringing them to you showing their worth.

Has anyone used the PestNoMore electronic trapper?

I did that after the cat and dog got stuck. I think the rat is too smart for it. I put dry cat food well inside the box too.

Use peanut butter and old school rat traps.
Drill some holes to allow the scene to get out.

Sorry, didn't have a chance to take pics. The cat was the first one to get stuck, both back paws. She made more noise with that thing, sounded like a jack hammer. I thought a wall was coming down. The dog shoved her paw as far as she could under a very low to the floor sofa and got stuck. After getting stuck she must have gone into my closet because when she came to the porch to show me her problem, she had one of my shoes stuck to it too. Would have been a great pic. Was a mess to get out of the fur.

Will try the peanut butter. Thanks. I've read a cat collar with a bell might help alert the rats/mice when the cat gets closer. Will try that too. If that doesn't work, will commission a mask for the cat on the order of the mask worn in Silence of the Lambs.

Yes! Put in a little dry dog food and it works like a champ! My kill count is 6!
It gives off a loud audible beep when the kill is made. Take the unit, pour the carcass out into a trash bag to throw away and then put more food in.

I have these - they work well. Effective for mice and rats. I have some of the smaller "mouse" traps, but my mice are too smart or too big for those.

Bringing you prey because the cat thinks it is a better hunter than you

I ordered this electrocution device after catching the mouse in a box, baited with peanut butter. Mouse stuck to sticky trap in box. Is it wrong that I feel bad about trapping the mouse this way. The mouse and I weren't really attached, but I still feel bad about it.
