Yea, this will be interesting
The only interesting thing about this is that he killed some POS thug that doesn't deserve to be breathing anyway. It is HIGHLY unfortunate that he couldn't eliminate the other one.

He cannot claim self-defense
Yes he can. They pointed a gun at him. You don't think he can say he was still scared for his life since they were within shooting distance?

I'm not sure if TX extends their Defense of Habitation laws to include vehicles. If they do not, then he very well could be charged with voluntary manslaughter
Well they do, so he won't be charged with a single thing.

I am ready for the carjackers mom or grandmother to get on TV and saw the victim was nothing but a vigilante and also a racist

they are trying to prevent riots...not really going to press any charges
I would love to see those animals try to riot in Texas. Texas would need to start buying body bags now to meet demand.

One's vehicle, boat, motor home is as extension of one's domicile in Texas and given what is described the use of lethal force was appropriate...end of the story unless some politician is trying to make brownie points at the expense of another...in other words, doing what they do

Should not matter. They had already brandished guns in such a way to threaten his life. Even at the point of them entering the car, he could not be certain that they would not fire at him out of the windows as they drove away.

Article says they made him get behind the car and get on his knees.
They could have been getting ready to run over / execute him. Lethal force is 1000% justified here.

Which easily could have run over him or backed over him. The threat isn't gone.

Police said the victim, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, was not hurt.
The case is expected to be referred to a Harris County grand jury to determine what, if any, charges will be
SOP. He will be no billed.
the victim, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon
They chose poorly.

I hope you all are right and he doesn't get charged, but you never know when you get the legal system involved.
Posted on 4/30/15 at 11:16 am to DoUrden
No doubt.
He should still lawyer up and shut up.

Fair enough. I don't think he should be charged. I was only arguing that it's not cut and dry self defense.

Great. We don't have to spend money on court or housing that POS. One less thug in the world.

He should have let them steal the car. It's only property.
At least that's what the Baltimore Mayor would say.

It isn't a cut and dry self defense as some are suggesting. I don't think he will be charged, but it's certainly not cut and dry.

If I knew it was only going to be theft, I'd let 'em have the vehicle.
The shitstorm ($$$) involved in killing someone is not worth it, IMO, just over a vehicle.
I'm talking about my truck of course. I'd plant a m'fer if they tried to take my F-Type.

Big Scrubb and Strong Felony have some input here?
