Thanks Cuse .. that's exactly what I'm thinking of booking. Husband told me to just pay the difference to fly into LFT and not have a 2.5 hour drive home. Appreciate the hhelp!

The fact that the Beta convention is being held at the Gaylord is funny as hell. I know it's a great organization for your kid and I applaud you for being a good parent but it is still hilarious.

LSUfan4444 totally legit. lol. It's the Junior Beta Convention and yes there is a Senior Beta Convention ... Beta Club? Similar to National Honor Society. Junior is for kids in 6-8 grade. Senior is for high school.

Coming from a travel agent (or at least manager), it's usually not cheaper. That being said, for complex routes it's usually easier to use a travel agent because the difference might be 1-2%. In general, travel agents only make 1% or less on airfare, 10-15% on cruises, and 20-25% on hotels.

If you do want to do the drive to MSY it's $135 direct each way on southwest for those days. It's a super quick flight. I do it all the time.

Maybe for flights, but some of the agencies have partnerships with hotels that can get you extra amenities such as comp upgrade, free breakfast daily, hotel credits, arrival amenity, etc.
