I just got an electric smoker and the instructions say for outdoor use only because of carbon monoxide from burning wood chips

I would like to use it in my garage with the door open but I'm worried if it emits enough smoke to damage the walls and roof.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

If you think it's destroying your house, unplug it and move it outside.

It's going to get into your house and make everything in your garage smell like smoke.

Just put the thing outside your garage door.

Yes, keep the door open with an exhaust fan blowing out

Unless you take great care, this had bad idea all over it.

You stand a good chance of causing smoke damage, no matter how minor, to the walls and the contents.

I would only consider it if I had a hurricane fan.

Thanks for the info.

I think I'll just store it in the garage and put it on the back porch when in use

What makes you think this is a good idea?

You've been holding to that one since you asked your junior high teacher "Can I go to the bathroom"

Do you smoke near gas pumps even though they warn you not to?

Sure, go for it. After all it's the crock pot of smokers. It's not like it's real.

And before you have to ask, yes, you can use your George Forman in the shower.

Plus your drunk neighbor coming home tonight will think your house is on fire and try to be the hero by calling the Fire Department.

I gave a Boston butt a nice rub Thursday morning and let sit in the fridge overnight.

I've had it going, coming up on 48hrs, in my living room. No issues.

Had one and used it often. My experience says that even in your garage (unless detached) every piece of fabric in your house will stink until death.

Dont know if you did this Net, but I got those detachable wires from Amazon to disable the smoke alarms when I'm smoking meat in the house. Works like a charm.
