Over the past couple months I have developed a flaw in my swing. I'm now taking huge divots and chunking the ball. How do I fix this?

1. Maintain proper spine angle

2. Create and maintain lag

Anyway you could make a YouTube video of your golf swing?

It's all in the hips.

This really isn't a "flaw" other than being lazy. Shorten your back swing. And stop falling over.

No way to tell without a video, but it's most likely early extension, reverse pivoting, not clearing your hips, etc. if you're chunking it.

Watch these and see if any of them help. Also watch your head position in relation to the ball.

Move the ball for more forward in stance, you won't come down so steep. Maybe

huge divots

Too steep. Keep the club head 'behind you.' Feel like your swinging inside out and hitting the inside portion of the back of the ball at impact.

Release is too early. Prolly a symptom of the steep swing

On your short shots?

You generally have the ball too far back in your stance and your approach is too steep. People try to fix the problem by playing the ball further back so they will hit the ball first, but that only makes the problem worse.

I love it when people lay sod. The next time someone hits an 80 yard shot about 20 yards, just yell, "Clean up on Aisle 5." Unless it is your partner. That would be rude.

You're probably standing closer to the ball than you think.
