I've been told to buy caffeine pills instead of pwo's. Was told that it "Does the same shite." Was thinking of trying this. Thoughts? Suggestions appreciated.

I drink a cup of coffee 15-30 before

Beware of squats and deadlifts if it isn't sitting right

Depends really. Different people react differently to certain sources of caffeine. PWO's normally use multiple sources of caffeine to come up with whatever is the total content while caffeine pills are from 1 source (coffee for example, some people really get a kick from it while some don't. Allot of those people who don't would from a different source)

Theres vitamins, minerals, sometimes other stimulants n stuff that increases focus,ect... in pre workouts. Caffeine pills aren't more "effective" but I do think people blow unnecessary amounts cash on pre workous. Find out what caffeine source u respond to best then go from there. If u get pumped from coffee go for it and save that cash.

Common sources are cocoa/coffee beans,tea leaves,guarana,yerba mate,caffeine anhydrous,ect..

Some pre-workouts have things caffeine pills won't have, like creatine, niacin and so on.

If you're just trying to get a boost in energy and no extra values, sure a caffeine pill can work, although some may make you feel like shite. If you're looking for the energy, coffee may be your best bet, as previously stated.

Eta - basically what tbonebrah said is what I was saying, just too tired for that.

A handful of muscle relaxers should do the trick

I drink way too much coffee for it to be affective as a pre. Plus I love that beta alanine skin crawl

I just did a line of coke and jogged 4 miles, so what's the big deal - whatever gets your heart going right?

Why do you need one?

Seriously, get your sleep and eat well - the energy should follow.

Aminos and creatine if anything. Maybe a little coffee IF training before 8am.

I am no gym rat by any means, but spent last year actually hitting the gym. Did a lot of workouts before work getting up at 4 a.m. and needed something to get a jump start. Coffee would make me shite everywhere, so I tried a couple pre-workouts. Besides the first week or so when you are getting used to it and really get that skin crawl feeling, I didn't notice much of anything. Helped me wake up a bit, but didn't help the actual workout.

Only thing that was ever noticeable was creatine. Stopped taking it and noticed the last few reps weren't as easy after a couple weeks.

Also took BCAAs because I read they were good during workouts and for recovery, but never really noticed anything from them. I still take them for swimming, running, and cycling recovery. But there's nothing earth shattering about the recovery or anything.

To me the biggest benefit of a preworkout is you get a far better pump and sometimes have a bit of a strength boost.

They do work better than coffee or tea, but that shite gets too pricey month after month.

I hear if you combine caffeine pills, pre workout supplements, energy drinks, and anger at people using the squat racks incorrectly, you'll go through a massive transformation where your muscles become massive, your pupils shrink, you go into a full rage, your shirt rips apart, your jeans turn into jorts, your balls shrink, you turn green, and you grow to 10 feet tall and develop super powers

Someone definently crapped their pants at my gym the other day. Stunk up the area by the squat racks for 15minutes.

I used to buy caffeine pills in the army when I needed to something that didn't take up much space. They kept me focused but I much prefer coffee
