I watched this show yesterday and there was a guy and his wife looking to buy a home on the Northshore of lake Pontchartrain. The guy said he and his wife had grown wealthy due to a crime scene clean up business they started. This guy said he was dirt poor prior to this and he had a budget of 2.5 mil to spend on a new house. Is there that kind of money in crime scene cleanup???

It ain't cheap and I can assure you, it's not something you want to do yourself. It's probably even covered under Homeowner's Insurance.

Well I guess if there ever was a good profitable place to clean up crime scenes it would be south of the lake.

Yes, yes there is. Not many people can handle that kind of gore on a daily basis.

What exactly is involved with "Crime scene cleanup?"

Are we talking mopping up blood, or moving bodies/body parts etc?

It was not provided. The guy was a little overweight and his wife was definitely overweight. They both had blond hair.

Bodies, body parts, etc. will be handled by the coroner's office. The homeowner is left with blood-stained carpet, floors, etc. and I don't know if you've ever seen a crime scene but blood gets everywhere (walls, doors, etc.). Then if it was a shooting you'd probably have bullet holes in the walls that would need to be patched and whatnot.

You don't just "mop up" blood btw.

They charge a ton of money.

A neighbor had a gun shot suicide in the house years back and it was like $2500 to clean up the one room. It took them an hour tops.

I handled an ins claim where someone had died of natural causes but the body wasn't found for a while, it had bloated and all bodily fluids eventually leaked out. I only saw the pics of the place after the body was removed. Those companies charge a lot for that service as well they should.
Just handled another where the police used a flash bang then went into the house and shot the kid. It was cleaned before I inspected it but that flash bang did a lot of damage to the sheet rock, basically popped all the nails in the ceilings
