Stupid name for Murkin city, IMO.

Where in Irving are you working? One agent should be able to take care of all areas. I would look at Coppell, Grapevine, Colleyville or Southlake. Some of the better areas, good schools and no far from Irving.

Add Lewisville to the list and farmers branch . Good luck

Good luck, it's nuts right now. People are getting in bidding wars to buy a home. We got lucky and bought just prior to this craziness.

I have a good agent that knows the Dallas area real well. I can send you his info if you want.

I'd rather have a house than pay rent on an apartment. Where else would you move that isn't an hour plus drive?

I own a town home in uptown and I love living here. You're 5 minutes from any and everything in Dallas. My wife and I are within walking distance of 100s of bars, restaurants, etc. There are a ton of new condos/town homes being built on fitzugh next to new retail and restaurants just like uptown. That's only 1 mile north of me.

If you aren't married, I can't recommend the area enough... The girls here are pretty amazing. Careers, beautiful, smart. Great area

Eta - I'm a big believer in making connections and expanding your network of friends, acquaintances and the like. There are a ton of great connections to make in this area if you plan on living in DFW long term. Professionals, family of senior vps, business owners, etc.

A buddy of mine is trying to buy a house right now I'm Richardson. He said people are getting multiple offers over ask in the first day houses are listed. Unreal...

If you are young-ish, single and don't have kids stay away from Southlake, you'll pay too much for a house only to have to try and bang older (but in shape) married broads. My vote would be for Grapevine or Colleyville (though Coppell would be a quicker drive than both and similar community), then again I'm in Fort Worth and less familiar with the Dallas side...

Parents are looking around rockwall.. houses on the market for 3 days with 7-10 offers over the asking price.

Shits crazy. Development in Nashville is booming too.

Dallas market is feasible, but the Austin market is where it's at.

Be prepared to pay an arse load of property taxes, ours are around $8,000 a yr.

$8,000 / 12 months adds another $666.00 dollars to your mortgage payment + Homeowners Ins $185.00.

Your mortgage pmt in general will be 1% of the face value of the home.

$250,000 home = $2,500 mortgage + $666 +$185 = $3,351 Escow pmt per month

ANother thing, Property Taxes is soley dependent on the ISD or county you live in. The area in discussion referencing Texas county rates is max 2.6% of appraised value.

I would get out of the city and move to Celina or Gunter. I just moved to Celina which is 15 minutes north of the Billion dollar mile of Frisco. Love walking out in my back yard and seeing stars. And if you like high school football, Celina is the place to be. We went for a state record 9the state title last year. It reminds me of Louisiana for sure.
