Not sure I understand the hate for BK. Their service is no better or worse than any of the major fast food chains as far as I can tell. As far as the actual product I would put them over McDonald's and Wendy's easily.
As far as fast food type hamburger places go Five Guys is the best in my opinion.

Might just be a BR thing, haven't been to a BK in years but they were the worst. I'm fairly certain the job application asked "how many fricks do you give?" If the applicant answered anymore than 0 they did not get the job.

Yeah, Burger King's customer service is about as bad as it gets in my experience. Maybe some places are different, but they just drown everything in ketchup and mustard. Wendy's always seems fresher to me and the food doesn't seem like it has been sitting for an hour. Though it may differ in some places. KFC is pretty awful for service too.

The whopper is better than anything Wendy's or McDonald's has but a few of my recent BK experiences went like this...
Black woman tried to cut in front of me in line. I called her out and ordered a whopper. Nothing else just a whopper. Then she ordered 3-4 combo meals...she was served before me. The entire staff was black.
Went into siegen location and the cashier was sitting on the counter. No one else I. The restaurant. After about 2 minutes the manager asked if she took my order...they are obviously racist. frick BK

Yeah, BK has thrown their hat in the political ring. I guess they thought it would boost sales on the coasts and with the SJW crowd. Anyway, all I know is since they've done that I've seen just about every bk around shut down.
They're prolly trying to use Popeyes to get back into flyover country. If they do this, I will start getting my chicken from somewhere else.

Popeyes in Watson. Order large side of anything,get home and look in the bag. 2 small cups (supposed to = one large)

Well, the Popeyes in Vidalia is a little slow but the food is top knotch. Those livers are on point, especially dipped in the gravy. Mmmmmmm!!!

i would say service couldn't get much worse. but i don't underestimate this combination's ability for frick up an order.
