It rains on the good and the bad. This sucks though.
The person who said it's probably his fault bc he was shot twice in 6 months doesn't understand. That's the culture they are in. They can be at a person's bday party who is good people. 2 people get in to it a little bit, both possibly drunk or other things so they're not thinking clear. 1 leaves and go gets a gun bc he feels played. Comes back and just starts shooting, regardless of who's around. And more times than not, it's someone besides who they're gunning for that gets hit.
Very likely that's the type of scenario that happened to this kid.

It's always sad when a young person dies, but especially so when the person is accomplished like this young man.

I agree about keeping violent offenders in, but we don't need more prisons. We need to stop throwing minor drug offenders into prison and send them to rehabs. That alone would free up plenty of space in our prisons, but that's what you get when you have for-profit private prisons that have unions and lobbyists to keep them afloat by incarcerating people who haven't hurt anyone else.

Do they still jail minor drug offenders?

But teaching this kid for two years, I have a hard time believing he was up to no good.
When you see some Priests doing some of the things we see, Doctors, Cops, Teachers doing things unimaginable. shite look no further than those we elect to run our Country.

I said it and no I don't understand. If I got shot once and lived, I sure as hell wouldn't put myself in a situation where it could happen again. I will give you wrong place wrong time for getting shot once. You don't get shot twice by doing all the right things. He may have been an exceptional kid, and it sounds like he was, but that's like getting struck by lightning twice, it just doesn't happen without some really bad choices.
What situation did he put himself in?

Is it possible that he did everything right and got shot twice, yes. Is it probable
Thanks.

I believe I read that the first shooting was a drive by while standing in front of his home. I don't know that anyone should jump to the conclusion that he was up to no good or making bad choices while standing in his front yard.

For profit prisons might be a problem but are not the main problem.

So someone shot up his home for no reason?
I admit that it's possible. It's not at all likely though.

Do you have no concept of what it's like to live in the hood? Or hell even played GTA? Drive bys aren't exactly missions executed by highly trained weapons experts carried out with precision.
Even if the bullets were meant for that house, who is to say that he was the target? Again, not sure if you are aware but generally in really poor areas many people in an extended family live in a small house.

Even if the shooter had a reason in his mind, the did doesn't deserve getting killed for it.
