Your brother sucks at drunk driving

True just a few weeks ago I got pulled over at like 3 in the morning right next to a big entertainment district in bham and all i got was a ticket for a tail light out, I spent like 80 bucks at the bar that night.

Isn't it? I don't think that they just ticket you and let you go.

I think the norm is pretty heft fines, suspended license, lots of court costs, and attorney fees. But for the most part jail can be avoided.

but considering how common drunk driving is and how frequently repeat offenders are seen, I'd say our drunk driving laws are little deterrent and need to be made much more severe.

If you don't take a test or anything isn't it like a fine and license suspension?

Haven't read this entire thread but if you don't help him your a POS brother if you ask me. The kid is 21, he's going to make mistakes. If his family doesn't have his back than who will.

You'd think since Louisiana is so big on family that this wouldn't be an issue.

There needs to be much stronger penalties for repeat offenders and scaled offenses.

I don't think we should punish someone who gets pulled over for driving at .081 once as much as someone who has been pulled over 3 times at .15 each time.

Getting a .08 once is a mistake. Getting multiple .10+ is just blatant disregard for the safety of others.

Also this. If OP believes this was just a one time mistake there is no reason not to help him out. You can have him pay you off by cleaning out your garage or painting your house or some shite.

Very true and I can see your point. But the problem is the 21 year old guy blowing .08 who's really a good kid that just made one mistake, can just as easily kill someone (or an entire family) as the habitual drunk driver.

You said you spent $80 at the bar. Unless you waited like 12 hours you were almost certainly legally drunk when you left the bar. In fact you were probably way over the limit.

You're not as good of a driver as you think. When you get behind the wheel while drunk you're just as apt to wreck as all the other drunk drivers. Do the world a favor and the next time you want to go out to the bar and get drunk, find a friend to drive you.

He should spend life in prison making little rocks out of big rocks. He's never going to stop on his own until either he's behind bars or in the ground. At least putting him behind bars will keep him from dragging anyone else into the grave with him.
