Does anyone know anything about B.A. possibly flying from Nola to London nonstop? Heard Corey Johnson talking about it this afternoon.Only caught the tale end of the conversation, so not sure if this was about something new or old and did not work out??

You'll may take American to Chicago (or some other American hub), then either American or BA to London. This is the way it's always worked out for me. American is BA's partner.

Well ya, that's the way its always worked for any number of flights. He's talking about a potential direct/nonstop though.

Reading the previously offered destinations on MSY's wiki page is depressing.

Here's on article on it I found on Google

Kinda a rumor right now according to that.

Another from Fox8

Would be nice but I'd prefer someone other than BA for award flights. But something better than nothing.

According to the guys at Airliners . Net's forum NOLA is on the short list for a non-stop. They're thinking announced in 2015 with service starting in 2016. Probably with a 787-8.

Doubt it, MSY couldn't support it, Air France from CDG might be more logical but they wouldn't support that either.

Thanks guys for the info. I am so tired of flying to other cities to get to the UK. This would be very welcome.

NOCVB's Stephen Perry has been talking about it a lot at events in the past few months.

Apparently NOLA is a huge tourism hit for the Brits, I believe the last time I heard him talk he said Top 3 destinations for them.

You don't prefer a short layover at another city before making the pond hop? Just curious because I like one last American meal before the trip to bland food.

It would be nice, but I would prefer Virgin.

Why not just eat your "last meal" in New Orleans?

I've spent six months of my life over there on several trips. I just hate England, personal opinion.

not a big fan of London…was there 5 nights and had fun but wouldn't return….now Endinburgh on the other hand is badass…if the weather didn't suck so bad I would certainly live there.

I really believe that is the reason for my dislike of England. I have never had the opportunity to experience it during an extended period of nice weather

That would be interesting. Honestly I'm surprised at the number of European origin pax from MSY in 2013. If those numbers are correct I think they could support 3x-5x weekly flight year round.

The Austin route has been real successful due to both business and tourism travel. BA is up gauging to a higher capacity 777.

MSY used to have flights to LHR, CDG, FRA back in the day. A lot has changed in the industry since then but it'd be nice to see MSY return to a semblance of that.
