Wife and I went to Chicago and had an awesome time last summer with help from the OT. Looking at Boston this summer in July.
-Obviously a game at Fenway is on the top of the list. What else are some must do's in Boston? Is it that hard to get tickets on top of the Green Monster? All sites I've checked show no availability for any dates in July.
-What are some good beer spots other than Sam Adams and Harpoon?
-Did the City Pass last year for Chicago and it worked really well but looked at the pass for Boston and doesn't really seem as good as the Chicago one.
-Any cool non-tourist stuff to do?
-Where to stay? Near Charles River and Fenway?

AbitaFan will be along shortly to give you whack advice.

Just go to the Baseball Bar near Fenway and tell them you are a tiger fan who wants to see the sights, they'll point you in the right direction.

I'd stay near Boston Common. Train access is close by. Take uber and lyft if you need to go anywhere not in walking distance.

I stayed at the Hilton downtown, and it was walking distance to Fenway. A decent walk, but easily do-able.

If you like history, do the Freedom Trail.

If you do not like history, do not go to Boston.

Cheers is overrated.

Amazing is a strong word. Best place for beer in Salem, I'd say yes. If you do that then skip the other locations, IMO.

This!

I strongly recommend the restaurants on the North End (Italian District). Great food and atmosphere.

True. Really good would be better. They had some sirloin scallions or something when I went that were delicious.

Stay downtown. You're in the middle of everything and a short train ride to everything else.

The Freedom Trail is pretty awesome.
