So let me get this straight...

You have a boat and you want to party. So you fill said boat up with booze, bros, and hoes and go out in the boat. And you park that MFer right where you will be on land and stuck for at least 6 hours.

Couldn't you just do that in the wal-marks parking lot?

Can't get a BUI if your boat's not in the water. It's a loophole.

I wouldn't do that every weekend but that seems like a great time. Especially if you have a pontoon and can load up on tents, Grills and ice chests.

What gets me is why moor the boats so tightly together?

Wouldn't the fall/rise of the tide cause the hulls to rub?

Obviously they put bumpers out but it seems like the boats would shift causing the bumpers to be adjusted as they don't all have the same drafts or anchors.

Is that all soft sand? Last time I dove the keys, the barrier reef was a bed of pretty hard limestone. I don't know the substrate along that particular cut, but I'm curious as to how those fiberglass hulls hold up when parked on it's side on a bottom that compares to crushed concrete.

For reference.

ETA: In the video it looks to be much softer.

I've never been that far up the keys to a sand bar. I've heard you get more of the Miami crowd up that way.
But to answer your question, where the boats tie up is very soft sand. Yes in the keys there is lots of coral and they can trash your boat. Driving the boat in the channel it's important to avoid shallow spots.
At most sandbars people bring tents, grills, etc..
The only real beaches here in the keys are these sandbars.

Hint: the tide rises and falls 2 times a day there and it's expected and they purposely did this.

The Keys are going through massive problems in water quality and loss of sea grass habitat.

It's very concerning and don't know why the "give me a break" emoji?????

Spend much time down there MJ2?
