Council Member protests BR's consideration for a national award for Recreation Systems.
It seems that at least one Metro Council Member isn't a fan of Baton Rouge being recognized for any type of Recreational Department Awards.
Wait...say what?
Oh and before you think she's just not a fan of parks, or zoos, or awards...

Metro Councilwoman Chauna Banks-Daniel is coming under fire by her colleagues on the council for trying to undermine a prestigious national award for which BREC has been nominated.
Wait...say what?

What’s more, Banks-Daniel called the NRPA earlier this week and questioned a representative from the organization about the awards process and whether BREC would be evaluated on the basis of its parks only, or on its parks and zoo.
The NRPA representative subsequently called BREC Superintendent Carolyn McKnight Wednesday to tell her about the bizarre conversation.
“She said never in the NRPA history had an elected official called with something like this,” McKnight says. “This is beyond comprehension.”
Oh and before you think she's just not a fan of parks, or zoos, or awards...

In an unrelated matter Thursday, Banks-Daniel called for a moratorium on any new Habitat for Humanity homes in her district, saying she wants fewer low-income homes and more middle-income homes in order to attract more retail to the area.

A smart man once said to never trust a woman with a hyphenated name. Seems fitting.

Well that and if you are going to have nice shite, then you need to give us some of your nice shite. It's only fair.
There isn't a single ghetto in America that businesses stay out of solely because most of the residents are black. They stay out because the majority of residents in the community don't give a shite about keeping their community safe and clean.

aton Rouge is only "better together" when it comes to public schools, it's actually better not to be together when it comes to CATS and hospitals.

She looks like she could be related to corrupt senator Clay Davis

She has to be one of the dumbest ones on the council. And that is saying a lot, as most if not all of those clowns should have never been elected.

Considering the insane amount of tax money that goes to BREC, it better win all the fricking recreation awards.

We are trending towards the lowest common denominator.

It's not as if metro council attracts the cream. More the shite at the bottom.
