My family are big fans of outings to the zoo. We have been to the Alexandria Zoo so many times and also the local Gone Wild Safari. Next weekend we are planning an excursion to the zoo in New Orleans.

I was hoping the OT could give some insight on the zoo in New Orleans as well as other good zoos to visit within the state...

The Baton Rouge zoo is a shell of its former self. I went several years ago and was sad to see how some of the animals were being kept.

Went To NO zoo last weekend. Relatively packed but was expecting that. I could've stayed in the lazy river they have now all day.

Audubon Zoo is the best overall with animal displays and activities/

Global Wildlife Is highest for me as far as fun for the kids. They love feeding the animals.

1. Global Wildlife
2. Audubon
3. Zoosiana

1 & 2 for sure. Just putting Zoosiana on there because of the name.

Audubon, and bring swimsuits for the little ones. The Cool Zoo water park and lazy river make a great day.

The Audubon Zoo is a great zoo but there is a lot of construction going on right now. Hopefully it will wrap up by fall/nice weather.

We were at the Houston Zoo last weekend and were blown away by how nice it is. If you get a chance to go it is definitely worth it. Just get there very early as the parking situation is terrible.

Summer at Audubon has a lot of school groups. If you want any chance at seeing active animals, I would be there when it opens. By noon you will be sweating your arse off and all the animals will be in their shaded corners.

X2 on the swim suits for the kids. Cool Zoo is great but it is not included in the regular zoo admission.

If you have a larger family visiting, you may want to consider the membership.

Easily the most depressing zoo in the state of Louisiana.

1. Audobon Zoo
2. Aquarium of the Americas
3. Global Wildlife

Don't go anywhere else.

New Orleans zoo is nice, can get hot, that lazy river will be popular, probably too crowded.

BR zoo has improved a little but still a shell of what it could be.

Global wildlife is ok as long as the giraffes cooperate.
