I have used a few like Alibris where you can get really great titles for 99 cents but they charge 4 bucks shipping per book. Any sites that offer better deals?

Is there any type of thrift stores online?

This is just a FWY, but I learned the other day you can get free audiobooks on youtube.

I'm pretty much an ebook reader. If that is an option, try bookbub.com. Free and cheap books available everyday.

Thriftbooks.com is the best site by far. They have used books for like $3 and new ones for $10. They have just about any book Ive ever looked for.

Also shipping is free on orders over $10, and arrives within 4-10 days.

I think Alibris might be better. good titles for cheap. I've got a few books by Bukowski for 99 cents. 3.99 shipping though.

It's not online, but check and see if you live near a 2nd & Charles. They have huge collections of used books, including text books. Their prices are fantastic too. When I buy used paperback novels there, the average price is $2/book. Used textbooks are normally under $15.

I was about to say Amazon.com but then that would just show my age.

Anyone else remember when Amazon was nothing more than a used book dealing site?

I had a bad experience with half.com twice. I know that it is going to depend on the retailer that you go through there, but I bought books through two different retailers and they both ended up not actually having the books I ordered in stock after they charged me for them. I ended up getting a refund on one and the other sent to me way after I ordered it after it was back in stock, but it was still just a hassle that makes me hesitant to use half again.
