Valentine's patent on the arrows has run out. Escort now has the Max 360 that has the arrows.

Personally I use the V1 + Waze combo. Those that are saying to just use Waze must never drive on road without much traffic. I-49, I-55, I-59, you're fricked if you are just depending on Waze. Here is a buyers guide for the best stuff out there right now. LINK

How do those high end models treat all these new cars with the lane sense and blind spot tech? I've got a middle of the line radar detector I've had since high school and 9 out of 10 times when it goes off now its because I'm near a new Tahoe or escalade. It's saved my arse hundreds of times so I still use it but I also feel like an idiot slamming breaks only to see a new Tahoe around the corner.

It's a k40 btw.

Newer Mercedes Benz S Classes are the only ones that make my Escort 8500 do anything weird. It's a coating they use on the windshield. The Bentley Continental uses the same coating but I don't run into too many of those. (Neither car can use a traditional toll tag bc of it).

OP: get the cheapest Beltronics detector and you'll be good to go. Same company as Escort. All you need is Ka, K and X band protection. Smaller departments love to use those last two antiquated bands.

shite the ticket would be cheaper....lol

I thought so too until two speeding tickets in 6 months showed up on my insurance. Texas and Oklahoma aren't like Louisiana where you can pay to have it not reported.

Radar detectors can be beneficial in relation to radar but they are all worthless if a cop is shooting a laser

I like the V1.

There will be false alarms. It won't save your arse against laser. But it has helped me out a ton and usually with plenty of advanced warning.

V1 plus waze here too.

It's been pretty reliable for me... but nothing beats situational awareness and understanding how to play the game.

Also know that if you speed consistently then you will get caught eventually.

Valentine 1. Worth the money -- about 14 years ago an older friend of mine drove us about 110mph the whole way from BR to Daytona -- caught every one along the way.

My X is off too. I ran with it on for 6 months through three states and never ran across a cop running X. fricking Livingston Parish Sherrif had a chopper on I-12 today. Saw it from a mile away running parallel to the interstate. The squad car had 4 people pulled over. How do you mark a chopper on waze?

How many tickets have to be written to justify putting a helicopter in the air?

Livonia, La on 190 does. I bet they do it because the grocery store's automatic door sends a false X band alert that most people dismiss. Before you know it there's a black Tahoe behind you.

I haven't had a speeding ticket in 10 years because I know how to speed. Its not hard.

1. Go 10 over the limit and cruise control

or

2. "Find a rabbit". In other words, a driver willing to go 95 in their douchey red mustang and follow them. They'll get the ticket every damn time.

Literally, the only times I don't speed are in residential areas/neighborhoods. Everywhere else is however fast I feel like driving (usually 15+ over)

I stopped driving like this when I got a big boy job.

Mostly because if it's over 6 hours I'm flying, and shaving 30 seconds off a 15 minute trip has lost its luster.

As for OP, I've found that the longer I did drive distance wise, the less I care about going very fast. 23 hour drives with a 30 minute delay don't bother me as much as 15 minute drives with a 5 minute delay so I don't really care to speed on them. However, semi trucks who drive next to each other for 4 miles can die in a fire.

No they don't. I drove through there every single day, multiple times a day for two years and not once were they shooting X. You're picking up the grocery store.

They sit there a lot without their radar on

Ha! I don't care if people speed unless the drive careless/reckless.
