So you base your opinion on what a few parents in Madisonville have said.
That's where I'm from, that's the people I have conversations with, so ya parents in Madisonville.
With the development in Madisonville mostly these days consisting of younger families with younger children growing up, it may be something to consider.

Yeah, I took AP Calc AB and BC, AP English, AP Reading, AP Psych, and AP Bio, along with honors for everything else that offered honors. They didn't offer AP History until I was a senior, so I didn't take that. Not sure what else they are offering now, but they are not academically behind the other schools.

Haha no, I didn't mean for it to come off that way.
I was just trying to vouch for "camp" SSA

For another instance, my sister's ex boyfriend who had come over whenever they were in HS(him-SPS her-MHS), she was doing calculus HW and he had never heard of what they were doing.
That seemed like a wtf moment, figuring private schools were ahead of public schools. I took fewer AP classes in HS respectively, but it seems there could be some discrepancies in material taught.
But when this kid had flunked out of LSU with <1.0 I went back to maybe SPS wasn't teaching certain material they should of. He seemed like a smart student growing up taking and excelling in gifted classes we took together, then he gets to college and totally tanks.
Those this could be another case such as your MLA format reference.

quote:I know kids that went to Madisonville Middle and Mandeville High that flunked out of Southeastern and didn't go back to college. So Mandeville High must not prepare their students for college either. Anecdotal stories do not carry much weight OR maybe there is something in the water in Madisonville that inhibits academic progress.

You don't think they have kids like that at SPS/SSA, that happens all over the place. Bashing one school for an issue that happens all over the US doesn't carry much weight either.

Hey, I just stated my opinion based on what I've seen and heard. That's what forums have posted on them sometimes, opinions. Sorry I ruffle some feathers.
St. Tammany is good place to raise kids overall, doesn't matter where they get sent, they'll have some of the best education in the state.

You have based your whole opinion on your sister's ex boyfriend, some kids you knew and what a few parents in Madisonville have said. I think that's pretty silly.

You are probably too young to have had ms Fred as a teacher at mjh, but she was the coolest when I was in the seventh grade.

Ah man Fred was a looney toon, having sex ed with her was way too weird though. I mean no one could take sex ed seriously in 7th anyway but with ms Fred in there it was near impossible. I remember one semester she found a lil bird in the class and we took care of it as a class for a few weeks, freaky lady though but funny. I remember one 9 week exam was a coloring sheet of the body and it's organs or something, hilarious. Although that last statement might not get me any points with Rome and mike.
