I am in the market for a used truck. I want one that will be in good condition and not patched together. Would it be better to go to a big dealership like Allstar or Robinson Bros., or to a smaller "mom and pop" type of place?

If you want a good deal look into out of state sales like Ebay other places. You can find alot more outside La.

I'm more concerned with quality used vehicles than the price.

After that thread yesterday I will travel westbound to Texas Direct Auto if I ever need a new rig.

List prices are unreal.

Pace Auto Sales, Hattiesburg Ms
JB is the owner. Nicest trucks on the gulf coast. I know, I lend all of them money for the inventory

You can check out CarMax. Have just about anything you want both year, model and mileage. Titles are clean and prices they are being sold at are sitting at current Kelley Bluebook suggested selling numbers.

Depends OP.

I recently bought a used truck (2 weeks ago) from a BR dealership

When the TexasDirect thread came out yesterday I had a minor heart attack until I found out I paid the same price as was listed at Texas Direct. I'm sure TD might have come down on their price some but I didn't have to make the drive either.

Shop around. I took about 2 months to find the truck I wanted...

Surprisingly, I got my 2013 Tacoma with 50K miles on it for just over $17k from Ralph Sellers Hyundai in Gonzales. I could not find a Tacoma with that few of miles on it and that new of model for under $20k anywhere else. They also took care of getting it checked for any recalls for me as well.

Just wait til gas prices go back down a little. The oilfield baws will be selling their brand new trucks at half the sticker price, truck nuts included.
