Not to mention different functions and mission sets than most of the the Army or Marines. PJ's are not infantry troops.

PJs are glorified medics. Marines have rescued all the downed pilots in the past 20 years.

Pararescue Jumpers.

They receive some of the best medical training in the military and jump out of airplanes and shite and rescue downed pilots.

Find an experienced veteran to talk to your son and potentially take him to MEPS (or Air Force equivalent). Recruiter can say anything, MEPS is where they get the job assigned.

Also, your son needs to know where he could be assigned prior to joining. Minot, ND has an AF base, for example. Army has Fort Drum, NY and Navy has Jacksonville, FL... Job and locations might be more important than the "quality of life" advantage in the AF.

Who do you think paints the targets for Delta? Calls in an air strike?

If you don't think there is a CCT assigned to each Delta platoon; you are absolutely retarded, Sull.

I served active duty in the Navy during the 80s. Aware of the recruiting game.

Military job opportunities are a little different today than when I served. My son is physically very fit but has severe allergies. Higher than average intelligence with a natural sense of mechanics/electronics. Just successfully finished 1st semester of college and is looking for something more "practical" and is eager to "do" more than sit in a classroom for the next 3.5 years.

His point is that CCT/TACP are an extremely small and focuses skill set. They really only exist to make the air force feel like they actually contribute. You could teach a Delta/SF/experienced grunt how to do that shite in a couple of weeks.
