Best jobs in Air Force

One of my sons is considering joining the Air Force. What are some of the better jobs that may lead to high demand/high paying civilian careers? I served 4 years active duty in the Navy in the 80s so I'm aware of the whole recruiting business.

My cousin is doing security forces. He says it sucks. Unless you get an armory gig or like being a cop.

Friend of mine was on the books as an admin guy, but he was really a full time first baseman for the base softball team. Not much help getting a job in the outside world, but it was a sweet gig while he was in.

I work in Comm. Cyber Security. Lots of opportunity on the outside and the AirForce will give him several certs that'll make him marketable if he decides to separate.
My friends who are maintainers and security forces hate their lives. Air Traffic Controller is another good job. Lots of schooling after basic training. Tell him to be straight forward with his recruiter about what he dose t want to do. He'll offer to ship him out quick if he takes maintenance, secfo, or services.

Think of a little city, and in that city you have all jobs that you can imagine.
That's the Air Force, now apply what he likes and would enjoy doing while considering the future, and chances are they have it.

Promiscuity Specialist
Nice Plate and Silverware Specialist

Of course, on the officer side, degrees in Cowardice, Pretentiousness, and Corruption will be required.

Depends...how old is your son? And does he plan on going to college? If so, I would tell him to just wait until he graduates college to go to OCS or whatever the Air Force calls their Officer's School. Pay is about 10x better and it's just an overall better life.

Unfortunately it is not that simple. You get to prefer but they offer you a job and you can accept or reject.

If you are an in shape H.S. Stud they will offer you a CCT or PJ shot.
CCT's are highly trained air traffic controllers who will certainly be trained as one leaving the Air Force.
The amount of medical training the PJs receive will give them a fast track to physician's assistant job once out of service, as well.
I'd be a CCT for my enlistment, than an air traffic controller for around 6-7 more after my service is up, then claim disability due to the amount of stress involved in my job the past decade.
My doctor would hopefully prescribe golf to relax me, as well.
Merica, bruh!

Just sit down with the recruiter with your son to make sure he isn't getting fricked. Go for a MOS that has marketable skills. Ask for certificates and accreditations that can transfer to civilian life. Never go open contract. Good luck!

I have to say, I ain't a spring chicken but I work with some military and some Air Force and if they'd take me, I'd jump at some positions. Intelligence is huge. I have a friend who was a special forces dude in their rescue of pilots. And of course, I think the OSI is cool as shite if he's willing to do that imho. Those are all things that could lead to further careers in Department of Justice or Department of Defense careers.
On a side note, the Air Force is the only service that allows officers to be main investigators. I get the gist but that just seems so odd to me that the other services don't.
