Police won't shoot a woman. Even ISIS don't kill women hostages.

For all the frick the police threads that have been on the OT, the difference in this situation is quite noticeable. Suddenly everybody's a cop fanboy.

Double standards are the way of life on the OT.

Shawn King was a decent QB, but wasn't ready for the NFL.

But ... There are those pesky "laws" that prevent that. Amirite?

No sympathy. If you're told "Stay out of the roadway or you will be arrested", and you proceed to get into the roadway, you deserve it peaceful or not.

The fact they are comparing this to fricking TIENAMEN SQUARE is farcical and actually insulting.

This might just be my half-white, racist side talking but that picture just shows how great a job the cops did.

Love that BRPD is arresting people for stopping commerce. You can't block the roads just because you want to protest and disrupt everyone else in the areas lives.

Comparing it to Tienneman is absurd. But, race aside, are people really not concerned with the militarization of police and police overreach? For as much as people cite fear of government in connection with the 2nd amendment you'd think more people on here would have these con

Last I checked, most police officers are citizens of this country trying to earn a living and these lazy frick burdens to society kill them in cold blood.

When will police officers have to stop fearing for their life because criminals own guns illegally here?

You have a generation of blacks that grew up with thug life and frick tha police. Literally preaching anarchy.

The fact that they are trying to compare that to Tiananmen Square is totally pathetic

Yep. It's the height of either ignorance or dishonesty.

What exactly are the police supposed to do?

Seems to me, people here understand that there is a time and place for certain things.

they should just allow protestors to walk in the street, but give cars the right away to hit them. Would probably learn the lesson of staying off the road better by bouncing off of a car hood as opposed to sitting in jail for a few hours
Yeah totally man, let's allow the murder of protesters. Great idea.

Article with another photographer interview.
quote:

I think that I had heard this women say something about she was going to be arrested, and I saw this woman, and she was standing in the first lane in that road. It happened quickly, but I could tell that she wasn’t going to move, and it seemed like she was making her stand. To me it seemed like: You’re going to have to come and get me.
quote:

It wasn’t very violent. She didn’t say anything. She didn’t resist, and the police didn’t drag her off.

How is this stirring the pot? BBC even stated that "it was clear the police were going to have to detain her". Is the picture doctored? Did it not occur?

Now, others will use it to fan the flames for sure.
bTW, I agree with her arrest.

Apparently, reporting facts = stirring the pot? I learn something new every day on the OT.
