Pretty much every liberal paper has been running that picture and a picture of the police surrounding that house that the protesters fleed to.

They are saying that the police are causing all the trouble and its an example of a police state cracking down on minorities.

Absolutely sickening and exceptionally far from the truth.

they should just allow protestors to walk in the street, but give cars the right away to hit them. Would probably learn the lesson of staying off the road better by bouncing off of a car hood as opposed to sitting in jail for a few hours

The fact that they are trying to compare that to Tiananmen Square is totally pathetic.

I actually laughed so hard when I first read that on FB sites that I'm surprised that I didn't wake up half the neighborhood.

Narrative is that she is calm and peaceful and not doing anything wrong while the police are fully armed and in military fatigue and nervously approaching her with anger.

and not...I'm not kidding. That is the actual story they are running. Her bravery against this oppressive military state.

It's like they took a story from The Onion and ran with it.

Comparing it to Tienneman is absurd. But, race aside, are people really not concerned with the militarization of police and police overreach? For as much as people cite fear of government in connection with the 2nd amendment you'd think more people on here would have these concerns

For all the frick the police threads that have been on the OT, the difference in this situation is quite noticeable. Suddenly everybody's a cop fanboy.

Can you blame the police when these "peaceful protest" almost always turn violent? The militarized police stats is simply protection for their lives. They enforce the law. Criminals are violent people. They have to protect themselves because at the end of the day their intention is to go home to their family, like every other hardworking American

All that article does is refer to a Facebook comment and mention how many times it was shared. Hard-hitting journalism there.

That would be the simplistic view of the situation. "The cops look scary! Let's take away their helmets and guns."

How about taking a look at liberals and Democrats and their constant expanding of regulations and restrictions on personal freedom and property? When the media judges the success of a Congress by how many laws they pass, we end up where we are now. Remember, every law Congress or your state legislatures pass have to be enforced.

Blaming the cops might make you feel good or gain you internet cred. But it would be like if your neighbor ran an electric fence through the middle of your back yard and you blame the power company when you get shocked.
