Baker Speeding Camera Ticket wtd?

So I got a speeding ticket in the mail from one of those cameras in Baker. I read some of the other threads on here about them and decided to pay it no mind since this was a civil action.
Now I got a second letter in the mail saying if I don't pay the fine plus a $75 late fee that "could eventually result in a court action against me, booting my vehicle, and reporting to debt collection."
"Immediate payment is necessary to prevent court proceedings against you."
The first letter I got in the mail was from the city of baker police department photo division. It was signed by a police officer including his badge number.
Should I wait this out?

If a cop signed it and recorded a badge number I would have just straight called the department and ask "what ya gonna do?"
frick those Baker cameras. My grandma lives out there and I always have to watch for them.

I love that you went to the OT for sage advice when you received the ticket. Read advice to ignore... Ignored it. It's escalated to a second notice vio with additional fees and possible court action. Hmm... What to do what to do:
Go to OT to ask if I should ignore! That's what I'll do!

I got one of those frickers. I ignored it and nothing has happened. I took the additional step of calling the Mayor's Office and letting them know that I forbade any of my employee's to fill up a company vehicle, eat a meal on company time or buy anything with company funds within the city limits of Baker. It is the American Way. frick the Man.

Alright smart arse.... I noticed none of the other threads mentioned police signatures and badge numbers. So I wanted to see if this was different.
Thanks for the concern!

Google Eddie Craig and his radio show. You'll have to do some digging but there's a link from the radio site or his personal website that is a great reply to these camera tickets.
Basically you respond by telling themthey have they burden of proof, you deny the accusation and their evidence, and call into question the legality of the camera etc.
It's a great response letter and it works. This whole thing is a money grab that needs to be ruled unconstitutional .

It's a legit ticket. It's not being sent to Milwaukee or El Paso.
Pay up you cheap a-hole.

That's exactly the attitude they are counting on.

I got two of them in Baker, in back to back days, about 3 years ago. I never paid them and they never went on my credit report.
Now, mine was never signed by a cop, it was only the company at that time.

I got a 2nd (or maybe 3rd?) notice for a speeding camera ticket and they said they're gonna boot my car if they catch me... It makes my like A LOT more exciting... I'm gonna just ride this out until the end...

I can't imagine your car getting booted in Baker.

Aren't the cameras in Baker on a little trailer? I've always wondered what would happen if you towed those things to somewhere in the middle of the night.

I cant let my original response go without saying its complete bullshite. Personally, don't learn the hard way, just go take care of it (pay it) and be done with it. If you let it go, it will likely come up at some point & you will have to end up dealing with it & paying more. Dont be a dumbass.

Things to ponder: Is speeding a good thing or a bad thing? Does speeding benefit other people that use the same roads? Why do we have speed limits? Is the violation less severe if you get caught by a camera or a cop? What is the ultimate purpose of fine revenues? Who benefits from fine revenues?
