re: Baby boomer nostalgia is about to get worse

I don't know about everything Baby Boomer always getting press coverage. Recently there occurred one of the greatest coincidences in music history, when 2 members of the '60s band The Jefferson Airplane died on the same day -- yet this received surprisingly little media attention.

Not mainstream, but it was pretty big on boomer social media. We're at the age where we'll be losing 60's and 70's musicians at a rapid pace.

Of course as I was so young most of those names meant nothing to me at the time. Now a lot of them mean a great deal.
I also remember young people bitching about the WWII generation -- yep, the "Greatest Generation" -- who were responsible for the mess the world was in.
Even Baby Boomer resentment isn't new. I recall being on a bus in the mid-late '80s and overhearing 2 LSU grad students (I presume that's what they were) complaining about research grants drying up and that it wasn't like "the old days" when the money flowed "like manna from heaven".

Who do you think brought us PC? Boomers, especially those who never grew up, fighting all things they considered arbitrary, EXCEPT PC.

The narrative:
Boomers: too self-absorbed
Millennials: too self-aware
Gen X : caught in between both worlds

It was the same for comic book creators in the 90's and 2000's. All of the guys who created the superhero genre were teens at the same time when they got into the business at the end of the 30's. Jack Kirby died in '94 then we started to see more and more go until it was a monthly ritual. Now they're all gone except for Stan Lee and one or two other guys.

Here's good news for you: many of us Boomers will soon be at the age of Alzheimer's: in other words, we won't have any memory, so no memories to get nostalgic about.
Hope this makes you feel better.

Don't forget about the recent recession and the situation in the middle east

Boomers and millennials hate each other because they are the same. They are the entitled generations.

I get tired of the old entitled shitheads and the youngsters they spawned. Both of them annoy the hell out of me. Finding someone my age in Asheville is rare. They are all either in their Sixties or Twenties.
