it's easy to say this when you're not staring down the barrel of another global recession, 20 trillion in national debt, a terrible job market, massive budget issues, and a culture in turmoil. you're lucky you're old.

That's actually what baby boomers parents did and why the generation is viewed as it is

This.

The Greatest Generation was so traumatized by the effects of The Great Depression and WWII, they were hell-bent on making sure that their children would have it better than they did. And while their intentions were good, it started the downhill slide to where we are today.

it's an entitlement when you get more than you put in.

quote:

According to the institute’s data, a two-earner couple receiving an average wage — $44,600 per spouse in 2012 dollars — and turning 65 in 2010 would have paid $722,000 into Social Security and Medicare and can be expected to take out $966,000 in benefits. So, this couple will be paid about one-third more in benefits than they paid in taxes.

If a similar couple had retired in 1980, they would have gotten back almost three times what they put in. And if they had retired in 1960, they would have gotten back more than eight times what they paid in. The bigger discrepancies common decades ago can be traced in part to the fact that some of these individuals’ working lives came before Social Security taxes were collected beginning in 1937.

Some types of families did much better than average. A couple with only one spouse working (and receiving the same average wage) would have paid in $361,000 if they turned 65 in 2010, but can expect to get back $854,000 — more than double what they paid in. In 1980, this same 65-year-old couple would have received five times more than what they paid in, while in 1960, such a couple would have ended up with 14 times what they put in.

What if said couple both die at age 66.

Both would have paid into the system but received minimal payments.

Bad example

Have you ever looked at the numbers and he definition of an entitlement?

You're looking like the village idiot Pops, par for the course.

Now come back with the 'don't care, deal with it, he he'

Baby boomers are the absolutely worst generation. Look at how they treated the troops. Spitting on them, shouting curses at them, etc. fricking disgraceful. It's one thing to lash out against the government. It's a completely different thing to lash out against OUR troops who were doing what they were told to do. And that's just one of the shitty things that generation pulled.

Gotta love a millennial.

If it weren't for an 'older' generation
1. you wouldn't exist.
2. you would still be shitting in your diaper instead of the toilet at the age of 20.
3. Being educated doesn't make you smart. Example..
Medicare and Social Security are not entitlements dumbass. Its paid for with money taken from us from our jobs. Yes, a job. Google it to see what the definition is.

Yeah thank God your generation created tampons too pussy.

The minute you take out more than you have put in, be it one cent or $1 million, you are then on welfare and no better than the leeches.

That is a fact.

My dad told me he was spit on at San Francisco airport when he got back from his second tour in Vietnam. 4 Purple Hearts, 2 bronze stars and spit on by some dirty hippies.
