I went to One Flew South a couple of weeks ago. Pounded some sushi. Got drunk then walked down to the end of E to check out all the Korean people getting on the A380.

Atlanta is a great airport.

upvote.

ETA: One Flew South is one of the best restaurants in any airport FWIW. Although now that it is spring, I will probably go straight to the outside lounge in international

It's pretty easy to go from one place to the next. I hate the security there, but if I'm making a connection, then I like Atlanta.

Atlanta is pretty bad. Dallas is a wannabe LA & Atlanta is a wannabe Dallas.

ATL airport is bad. It takes minimum 30 minutes to get from rental car lot to terminal and vice versa. frick that.

For a frequent traveler, 30 minutes x 2 x 52 weeks a year. You would spend 3+ Days of wake time of your entire year doing absolutely nothing productive.

For comparison hobby is a big hub for southwest. I can get to & from terminal to car rental in 10 minutes or less.

Walk faster. I budget 10 minutes from car drop to security line in ATL

I made it in 23 minutes walking as fast as I can. 10 minutes is just a lie.

Iuckily I only have to waste my time like that once a quarter.

2-3 minutes from your car to the train. 2 minutes waiting on the train. 4 minutes to terminal stop. 2 minutes down the escalator to TSA pre check

Only time I ever go to ATL is for SEC Championships or nights before international flights. Neither have required me to rent a car.

What I like about ATL is that if I am delayed and in a bind there are flights almost every 30 min to any of the 3 airports near where I live. That and there is EVERYTHING in that airport.

It's part of my territory now which sucks because I cant connect in MEM anymore to ATL and I've usually got to drive to MSY bc of the price gap. But it's not a bad arrivals/departure airport either.

Yep. The place is huge but it's pretty easy to get around. I've never had a problem.

Of course, the place pisses me off on principle because it's such an in your face reminder of how Atlanta did it right while New Orleans laissez les bon temps roulez'd themselves right out of being the crown jewel of the South, economically.

And it could have been Birmingham if the fools here had gone through with it. They didn't want to build an international terminal and it got built in ATL instead.
