If a Ph.D. says "you're disrespecting me..." she should be more articulate than that.

I love that a tap to the shin that barely leaves a mark is felony assault of an officer.

Well, it appears like they were all idiots in that situation.

She was walking down the middle of the street, not crossing the street. She is an idiot.

Then don't kick an officer.

You can't go around acting like a child.

When an officer tells you to put your hands behind your back, put your hands behind your back.

do you not live in metropolitan areas???

they have crosswalks for a reason..so stupid people don't get hit by cars randomly crossing wherever they want.

how does scruffy feel about that?

Never heard it referred to like that.

Then say, "Hey, mam, will you kindly get out of the road so as to not obstruct traffic?"

But if police did that, they would lose the tax collection racket.

I would imagine so. I believe most states required you to provide id.

ETA: yes, they have a stop and identify statute in place.

Every once in a while situations like these arise when both parties are unreasonable and things get out of hand quickly.

If a cop has an attitude with me, I don't lose my cool or blame it my skin color. I blame it on dealing with a bad cop.

If I were betting on it, the cop was being a dick and the prof overreacted. She kicked him. She should get in trouble. Period.

Why is it that every time a black person gets involved in any type of issue it because the other side is racist. I just don't get it. It's time to end the bullshite and just be people. Not black. Not white. Not brown. Grow up America.

I'm sure that cop was probably being a dick, but people walking in the middle of the road aggravates me to no end. Sounds like she needs to learn to pick her battles.

Eh, after walking through some big cities, I can see why jaywalking laws are needed.
