Areas in the lower 48, one could live oblivious to a multi-year modern civil war

Is there anything remote enough to not notice?
What about a foreign war within our borders?
ETA: Specific areas, not just states

Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, The State of Jefferson (a proposed U.S. state that would span the contiguous, mostly rural area of southern Oregon and California north of the Bay Area), the Dakotas, almost all of Kansas, almost all of Nebraska, western Oklahoma, Colorado aside from the cities along the Front Range, far west Texas.

It's a huge country. Lot of places like that. Hell there are places in Louisiana like that.

Northern Nevada, eastern Oregon.
When US troops went into Afghanistan they encountered people who thought they were Russians. They never knew the Russians had left. Others were so remote they had missed out on the Russian invasion, withdrawal, and ensuing Taliban takeover entirely.
