Or are they all now corporate owned animal clinics with so many vets, and such a high turnover rate that you never get the same doc twice?
We switched over from one place to another a couple of years back, and it was good for a while, but now it sold out to corporate, and it's as bad as the original place was. Also, I'm tired of get put on hold for 15 minutes every time I call, even if it's a just a quick question that needs answering.
Any help would be appreciated.

Websites like Chewy and other places that provide low cost animal products are eating away at the income of the small vets

They can’t afford to stay in buisness

Funny Story about "Old School Vet"

So, there was an old guy named Dr. Ford who practice close to Spanish Town. Bit of a whack job....charged next to nothing....carried pistol in back pocket that was always just about to fall out and onto the floor.....would frequently eat his lunchmeat sandwich during exams, placing the sandwich on the exam table with his "patient".

So anyway, my college GF was cat-sitting her friends orange tabby and it got sick. Her friend said the cat was ill and that she had recently brought it to Dr. Ford who didn't pay much attention to the cat, but rather just force fed it a pill, charged $5.00 and said come back if it doesn't get better.

So, while my GF had the cat it wasn't doing well. Per the instructions, she brought it to Dr. Ford. He looked at it for 30 seconds and then shoved a horse pill down the cat's throat, charged $5.00 and said come back if it doesn't get better.

Well, after a couple days the cat is still not doing well. My GF was kinda freaked out by Dr. Ford and asked me to take the cat back over there and explain that he had seen the cat twice already. So, I put the cat in a pillow case and go see Dr. Ford.

We go in the exam room and I start looking around at the weirdness of what he calls an exam room. Before I had a chance to say anything and I swear my back was turned for just a moment.....when I turned around, he was shoving another giant horse pill down the cat's pie hole and said " This is the 3rd orange tabby I have seen this week with this problem. That will be $5.00. Just bring it back if it doesn't get better."

You probably don’t want ‘old school’ like you think you do. Many don’t embrace diagnostics like they could for best patient outcomes. It’s a fine line between old enough to have experience and young enough to be up to date on the best medical practice. I see cases all the time where illness or disease is missed or misdiagnosed due to the diagnostic process.
