The Sleep Number foam pillows are fricking amazing. I always have chicks/have always had GFs try to steal them from me, and end that with the quickness

Our TempurPedic is probably one of the best things to ever happen. Could never go back to a regular mattress. The only and I mean the only drawback is that yes, it is kind of hot.

OT Mattress experts:
I'm needing a new mattress. I've been told Tempur-pedic materials retain body heat. I like it to be cool to cold when I sleep. I'm nervous about living in the deep South heat and regretting my decision . Any owner experiences here? TIA...

I live in the caribbean and you can not get a good mattress to save your life down here. So I borught back a memory foam pad from the USA after Christmas. I did notice that the bed was a bit warmer but not totally uncomfortable. I have a mini-split AC in my bedroom and I just use a thin quilt to counter the extra heat.

I can't believe my Tempur-pedic thread from a year ago is still on the front page.

I am buying a new mattress and I searched first and found your thread. I would never make such a purchase w/o consulting the OT

I am still waiting for all the 'that's trashy,' replies for those that got the Amazon cheaper deals of toppers and what not.

I didn't even notice the date on the OP.

I think the consensus on the alternative memory foam mattresses is that you can get one with half the lifespan and 90% of the comfort of a Tempurpedic for less than a third of the price. It boils down to whether or not you want to pay the premium for the convenience of longevity and the luxury of that extra 10% of comfort (subjectively speaking, of course, as I found my mem-foam mattress+4lb density topper combo to be more comfortable than the $2800 Tempurpedic at my parents' house).

IMHO, the Serta foam mattresses are 100x better than the Tempurpedic mattresses

Well I got mine on a special deal. FB yard sale. King bed frame from Pottery Barn, Valencia style. Sold for $1800 when brand new. Was in great shape. Tempurpedic was five years old. Got it all for a grand so it was worth it to me.

Would you post the items you had bought?

Never seen the density topper or know what it is

Friend of mine had to return his because it molded on the bottom. It was this thick black mold. Has always kept me from buying

They really recommend that you use slats with memory foam so that it can breath. I've read people use solid platform surfaces but they drill holes in the surface for air flow. I just went with slats

know a few people who got the Tuft and Needle and they seem to love it. How firm is it on a scale of 1-10? Trying to decide the Tuft and Casper.

The first day I had it, i'd say it was about an 8. After the first week, the foam acclimated and my body adjusted from having a boxspring and now it is softer. I'd say an 6-7 now. I think it's perfect.

I hated the way you sink into most memory foams. You don't do that with the Tuft & Needle. Go with the T&N, you have nothing to lose. If it's too firm, just have someone come pick it up and donate it. They'll refund you full purchase price.

I'll have to ask how they had it placed. It was pretty horrific.
