He didn't make $3.2billion. He owned 25% of the company. Not all the money goes to him.

You guys are missing something. I don't think they are buying beats for the headphones.
They are buying them for the streaming audio business.
Beats already has tons of licensing deals in place.
That means Apple doesn't have to start from scratch to get into the streaming audio business.
They are now in the business.

I read somewhere where they sell these headphones for 200 bucks or so and it only cost like 20 bucks to make them. That's pretty good return on investment. Plus I think it had more to do with the streaming service as less people are buying songs from the Apple Store.
