I find that TD and Reddit are polar opposites, and both can be quite extreme.
The difference is here your comments don't get buried if you have a dissenting opinion.
Reddit is really dangerous for that exact reason. I love when people express their opinion, but the majority will downvote anything not exactly on the status quo, burying it forever. Then people go in to a thread to see how other people feel and they either feel crazy because nobody agrees with them, or they have their beliefs reinforced, making their beliefs stronger, and on and on creating a massive echo chamber.
