So they looked at Colorado's wealth of taxes from it, its safer roads, its donations to schools, and its drop in crime and said, "Nah, frick those stoners?"

Great job you morons.

It was voted against because part of the law gave growing rights to just a few specific farms/companies. Corrupt bs.

Ahh.. I retract my previous statement. Sounds like something they'd try here in Louisiana

Yea frick him.

I have little doubt it will be legal within 5 years. If a similar structure is presented as Colorado's it will pass.

Tomorrow morning wake up, take an Adderall, take an advil, drink some coffee, take another Xanax.

You people know why pot was originally made illegal in the early 20th century, right?

'Cause Mexicans.

Good, that bill would have given all the growing rights to ten investor groups/investors. They would be the only ones allowed to sell to the dispensaries, once again fricking the little guy and continuing to line the pockets of a few already extremely rich individuals

Have you even taken a look at what the bill was? It was written so that the industry would monopolized, almost complete control from the government, maybe that's not what the voters wanted?

I'm completely open to legalization, and why not? Take a look at what Colorado, Washington, Alaska, etc. have done. There is absolutely no reason to keep it illegal, unless you condone putting people behind bars because of a harmless plant.

So now they get shite. Status quo. Legalization was voted on and defeated. That's the lesson lawmakers will take from this.

And now weed and the war on drugs is a driver of illegal immigration and keeps the cartels powerful and in business which is a threat to american national security.

Drug prohibition needs to end.

I live in Ohio and have read the bill. Again, the reason this did not pass was the wording of the bill. The bill was written to get (keep) a few interests rich, and did not consider a true free market. Pretty much set it up for inflated pricing on crappy product apparently.

They used this election to have their one "failure" year, and it will be rewritten and will pass during election next year.

Don't agree with this. If a movement is powerful enough and is backed by enough people, then the lawmakers will have little choice to push that agenda. But who knows, politics in this country are fricked.

I hope so, but I fear a conservative state like Ohio won't make this a priority now that it proved a failure.

But do you think that's the case in Ohio? This isn't Oregon.

Not really. It's already decriminalizated. $100 fine for personal use.

Ohio is not conservative.

It's a political bellwether. It's literally the Center State; how else do they decide who gets into the Oval Office so frequently every four years?
