I like both, tbh. I enjoy roller coasters and bungee jumping, skydiving, etc. I've done 2 of those three (never been bungee jumping). I also enjoy hiking, diving, snorkeling, lounging on the beach, etc.

I'm just not a fan of all the corny stuff that comes along with Disney. I'm also not going to wait 3 hours to ride a roller coaster because it's named after a disney princess. If you're into it, that's fine. But I think it's lame, and I'm going to clown, especially if you don't have kids.

That's not true at all.

The inlaws are disney fanatics, spend half their time there and the mountains hiking.

Man, I thought I'd hate Vegas, but I am a sucker for a pool party with good looking people, a DJ, and champagne.

I'm a douchebag

Different strokes for different folks.

My honeymoon was at a dive resort in Cozumel. Loved it. Fast forward 16 years and we are a Disney family. When we go and I see the newlyweds in the parks, they look just as happy as my wife and I did on our honeymoon.

Point is, I didn't get it, but those folks were happy.

Later on, Wife and I went with adults to the food and wine experience. You can eat and drink well in the kingdom and there are some pleasant surprises to be found in regards to food. We enjoyed the time without the kids even while waiting on some of the attractions.

Everyone in my family (cousins) seems to go to DW for honeymoon. I don't get it either.

Yes, a trip to Tennessee and staying in Gaitlinburg and going to Dollywood.

We were there last week. Someone told us the waiting list for the wedding pavilion was over a year long.

Everything in Dollywood is lame except that Tennessee Tornado roller coaster.

I wonder how many claim it is "lame" because they have never been. We quite enjoy Disney world and also quite enjoy traveling the world. Go figure. I guess you CAN have your cake and eat it too.

That's where we got married. My MIL is retired Disney, Disney has been a big part of their family, so it was kind of inevitable.

There was nothing really "Disney" about the experience either. The pavilion is a straight up really nice chapel overlooking the lake, we had the reception (brunch) at the Floridian, and you get a free night there which was great. Plus, getting married on Disney you each get a free year pass so all we had to pay for was the resort.

Most people can't get past Dumbo and It's A Small World when thinking of Disney. There's plenty of fun stuff to do as an adult, especially at Epcot. Plus, if you've gone to Disney with kids, going by yourself and not being dictated by cranky kids, nap times, diaper changes is sooooooooooooo liberating.

It's the "on your honeymoon" bit they are scoffing at, and it's pretty much the born of the same of ideal as "if there's no stripper at your bachelor party, WTF". Some people never grow up past high school.

This topic should pretty much be banned from being posted on the OT as it seems someone every month posts the exact same thread.

As far as this goes, I agree. I hate the beach, my wife loves it. As I said before, we went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon and Disney for our 1 year anniversary; I can see the appeal for both. We aren't the type to do Disney every year as some do (since going to Disney a few years ago we have done a road trip through Arizona and New Mexico and been to Ireland) but there is something to be said for going to Disney.

I just don't understand how people can get angry over how others spend their money or time. Who cares? It doesn't affect your life.

Honestly, though, Universal has been killing it recently with park upgrades.

Awesome its the monthly miserable, super judgemental idiot bashes Disney World post.

It is amazing that people can't grasp a simple concept like everyone enjoys different things and has different priorities.
