No, no one here has ever used that kind of service.

Safelite has replaced a windshield for me at work. I'd recommend them I reckon. Not sure what the costs would be w/o insurance. I have $0 deductible for windshield replacement

I used safelite once. I had them come to my work and they replaced the windshield while I'm in the office. Pretty convenient.

I have had 2 windshields replaced in my garage through Safelite. They have cheesy commercials and are more of a national brand than a local entity, but they have done a nice job both times and have been very professional down to the paperwork and warranty documents.

Yeah, make sure you know what the deductible is. Sometimes it's cheaper to pay for it out of pocket than pay the deductible.

Used Safelite once. Went inside for a while while the guy was installing the windshield. I come out, and that POS was smoking a cigarette while he sat in my drivers seat and worked on the seal.

Safelite came to my house to replace my windshield. Check with your insurance first, I think it paid around $50, without insurance it would have been around $600 or so.

Safelite uses subpar glass. If in the BR area, call Absolute Auto Glass at 225-413-6842. I have used him a couple of times for replacement.

Same. Guy showed up at my work on time and changed out the windshield pretty quickly. Quick and easy... like your mom.

WTF. Mine was less than $200 (this was my old GMC truck that I sold a while back).

Just checked pricing on my Suburban and it would be $215 to get the window replaced.

WTF kind of vehicle do you have that would cost $600 for a windshield?

Yeah, years ago when I was in college my deductible was $500 to replace the windshield whereas out of pocket it was like $250. It was a no-brainer.

I want to say some Mercedes windshields are like 1200 to replace or more. They're putting sensors and stuff in the glass now and it's jacking the price up.

I have a jeep and the windshield from the factory has some design shite around the edges of it. I could have got a plain one, but the price was the same for me, so I got the factory one.

Safelite uses shitty glass. I used to own a glass shop and refused to buy any of their glass because of that. Call a local company and make sure they buy your glass from Pilkington or PPG

Does it really matter? No matter what type of glass you use it's going to get cracked the first time some dickhead in a dump truck starts slinging rocks all over the interstate.
