I agree. Went on a road trip with a friend and we took her car, but I drove. I really liked it, and maybe buy one when I get a new car in a couple years

The wife had a Mazda 3 wagon. It was a peppy little car, but good luck if anything breaks on it. The engineers obviously designed this car with little Japanese hands in mind. Just changing the headlights required a contortionist.

The new 3 and new 6 BOTH made Car and Drivers 10 best list in 2014. I think Mazda was the only one with 2 cars on that list.

Mazda 3s are typically at the top of any rankings for cars in that class. They've been #1 or 2 on US News for at least 3 years in a row.

I still drive a 2005 Mazda Tribute. It has 140,000 miles on it with very little upkeep. Every time I get it looked at the mechanic tells me the engine is in great shape.

Mazda makes a solid vehicle that is built to last. Don't listen to people who hate on the brand just because it's Japanese. The skyactive technology versions are fun and sporty to drive compared to it's Toyota and Honda counterparts.

I'm a countess.

J/K. I don't drive a Mazda and haven't since 2002 or longer.

Don't listen to the idiots. My wife drove one from December 97 until this January (stupid teenagers made an illegal turn and destroyed the Mazda....hit it at 55 mph).

It only had minor repairs. It had 188k miles and would have probably gone another 30-50k.

I've known several people to own them. I've never seen so many people happy with their purchase.

We had a 2007 Mazda 3 and it was a great car, recently changed it for a cx-5 as well.

Zero problems between the two of them and they definitely feel more sporty than comparable Hondas or Toyotas

I had a mazda 6 about 10 years back and I absolutely loved it. It had a bit of a sporty edge to it that made it a little more fun and enjoyable to own over a Camry or accord which to me were so bland.

I love my Mazda. Only probably in 65k miles has been the alternator. 200$ part. Would buy another one.

I have a 2010 3 and love it. Get the 2.5 motor and the manual (well...the auto is excellent too). Even stodgy old Consumer Reports recommends the 3 with stick.

I only have 61,000 miles on mine so I can't comment about parts prices but I like the fact that it's made in Japan. I feel those cars are better quality. I'd rather have a 3 made in Japan than a Civic made in the US.

Fun to drive and excellent fuel economy (better than mine which doesn't have Skyactiv). The one downside is that the 3 is not a car for people who need to use the backseat often or put a car seat in the back. Legroom is tight in the back (but good up front).

I really liked the S Touring model I test drove last year even though I went with another option. I liked the handling and interior, and the power was good enough. I would not have considered going with the four banger though.

I had a 09 manual transmission in college. Compared to other compacts, like Corollas, I liked it a lot.

I'm still driving a 2006 Mazda 3 I bought new. I've never had any problems with it and the paint and interior still look great and it's never been in a garage.

Mazda is proud of their parts meaning they're expensive. More expensive than other car parts for cars I have owned.

This is true. They're like the Volvo of Japan. My dad had a Millenia years ago and it had issues all the time. But it was basically a Ford Taurus.

I've had one for going on 3 years and love it. 0 problems with it and it is pretty fun to drive. Honestly can't think of anything bad to say
