I have bought one from the tire place on the corner of eddie Robinson/terrace. Paid $40 for it a year ago, still going strong. Didn't see the purpose of buying one new tire when the others had 15k miles on them.

Not for all 4, but I recently replaced a single tire with a used one to match up the tread wear to the other 3.

I've bought twice at Southeast Tires never had a problem. Paid for 4 what several places wanted for 1. Last time bought Pirellis. Usually good for about a year or so.

I hate that we very likely have the technology to make tires that last the lifetime of a car, but the companies have no incentive to use it. One of the few negatives of capitalism.

I bought 4 Goodyear Wranlgers with 1,200 miles on them for $150. A guy I know had them on a brand new truck and got bigger rims and tires put on it so I bought his used tires.

I have one to sell.

Less than 200 miles on it. Had to buy it out of town on Sunday to get home after one of my run flats got trashed.

Got a new run flat that week but now I have this non-run flat taking up space.

Makes two of us. However, that was a long time ago and I would not do it again. You never know what's going to happen with that tire while you're on the road - particularly at a high speed. Just too risky.

I bought one since my other 3 tires had approximately 60% of their tread remaining. I looked around on eBay and bought one that had 60% tread remaining as well. Made perfect sense to me.

The OT is going to give you shite, but they're all driving around on used tires themselves.

I bought two for a boat trailer from a U-Pull-It junkyard. Their prices were $25 for a steel wheel and tire, or $35 for an aluminum wheel and tire.

Get a whole wheel and tire that matches your car. Measure the bolt pattern before you go and bring your tape measure with you.

I now have BMW wheels and tires on my Jon boat.

Makes 3 of us. I rode on nothing but used tires when I was a broke college kid. Had plenty of flats, too. I could have been on a NASCAR pit crew I could change a flat so fast.

yes...living in Houston there are used tire places everywhere and I can get a damn near brand new tire for $60

Even though I am not poor, I for one hate to pay $800 for a new set of tires, and there are people all over the place who either replace their tires after a few thousand miles or put some fancy shite on their car to fit a certain rim with spikes.

so long story short, there are some excellent used tires out there so don't be afraid to check them out.
