It usually doesn't bother me other than a sore shoulder, but I feel like shite right now.

Not this year, but it has happened to me in the past.

I've gotten a flu shot one time. I've also gotten the flu one time, the same year. Never again.

ETA: then had an allergic reaction to the flu meds, and ended up being sick for 3 weeks

Just your immune system reacting to the vaccine. That has happened to me in the past. Some years I have a sore arm. Some years I'm totally ok. Some years I have a low grade fever and body aches for a day or two.

Doesn't mean the flu shot gave you the flu or made you sick.

Yes, I know. I gave the shot to all of my staff this week and everyone has said they feel like crap.

I felt no effect from mine this year. Couldn't even remember which arm I got it in as there was no soreness.

I think I last got a flu shot about two decades ago. It must really be working well b/c I haven't got the flu since then.

Same here as others. Some times I feel nothing. Other times I've had mild fever/aches.

Good to know. I haven't gotten mine yet. One of the nursing managers tried to give me one last Thursday but I declined cause I didn't want it to mess up my weekend plans. I'll get it next week.

I felt bad for 2-3 days. I hate being old enough to be moved to the higher risk group.

Well, they did inject you with the flu, so you feeling like shite is not outlandish.

I don't believe in the flu shot. the CDC is basically making a " flu forecast" for the strains most likely to be present here. It's all a guess and there's about 1,000 different strains of the flu out there so I'll just take my chances.

My mother-in-law gets sick for a week every time she gets one but in the 17 years I've known her she's never had the flu so I guess it's a wash.

I don't get the flu shot. I got the flu shot once in my life and that same year I ended up catching the flu(the only time I've ever had it).

As mentioned earlier, never again.
