I love Christmas! The gifts can be a bit excessive, but this year I think we managed to get something for everyone that they can actually use and enjoy.

Could it be that your shoes are too tight?

Or maybe your head isn't screwed on quite right?

Sorry. I love the holidays. Football, food, cold weather. Sorry to hear about your split, brother.

Second worst part of Christmas after the over commercialization.

Okay, maybe third after the creep in stores, but that's part of the commercialization.

Other than that though, love this time of year.

love the holidays. All the losers come out to piss and moan about how much the holidays suck, which is always the result of their loser attitude and inability to deal with their own problems. Makes me realize how great my life is.

Love the holidays. Tired of people moaning and groaning about how much they hate the holidays. Take a vacation, go to the caribbean, invite friends over, adopt a pet, stop wallowing in your pity while the rest of us have a good time.

I don't really love them but I don't hate them.

This year is going to be different though. Found out Monday my old man has terminal cancer, not much they can do for him. They gave him 4-6 months. So I intend on this being the best Christmas since it will be his last.

Just a little perspective for you.

It sucks, because I have two little boys and want it to be special for them. Just doesn't feel the same, since I'm no longer married.

then make it special for them. Feelings change all the time.

My family will all be in MS while I'm stuck at work Christmas Eve and possibly Christmas Day. So yeah, I don't really like it.

ETA: I'll probably grill a couple steaks for me and my dog, drink some high dollar bourbon and relax all weekend. Not a bad way to do it IMO

Create new Christmas traditions baw

My family didn't like the tensions of our extended family at thanksgiving, so we started going to 30A for the holiday without them. Just finished our 22nd year doing that, adding in significant others and spouses now. Kids/grandkids to follow shortly I imagine.

Not saying you're a grinch for not loving Christmas, but it can be such an awesome time that I hope people who can find ways to max it out will do so.

Yep. We do no family on Christmas day. Book us a nice hotel, reserve a nice restaurant for dinner, and spend the day bar/hotel decor hopping just us two. You don't have to spend Christmas with random extended family that you barely have a relationship with.

I've spent a few holidays alone due to my SO's odd schedule and my dad's shift work, and honestly I think it's great too. I'll be alone for NYE this year and I'm not all that disappointed.

We have absolutely created new traditions. We are renting a cabin in the mountains and will do hot springs and take LSD.

I also have a found family that is awesome and very supportive.

I still don't like christmas though. I am an atheist, I dont like christmas music, I don't like the commercialization, I think lying to kids about santa is kinda fricked up. I can manage to avoid most of that shite pretty easily though.

I find things to enjoy during the season and focus on them. Hanging out with friends, going to see lights, the food. The time off.

At the same time, there is this notion of family that is an assumed expectation of the holiday which I don't like. I accept that my family isn't so great, most of us try but christmas is a reminder that my family isn't so great.
