I was able to negotiate our rent down by half. They knew if I pulled out they wouldn't be able to get even that

I do own a Yeti though

Why does this matter?

According to the OT I thought it was standard practice for somebody in the oil field to own a Yeti.....

Also, I figured 80% of the responses would be smart asses and boy have they delivered gay porn it is then

By the way for anybody that does respond with something informative and serious thanks in advance

I was cut from an upstream/shale role, went downstream and moved from laffy. shell predicts low oil for 2-3 years.

Memorial is steadily bringing Rigs into the terryville field. Wildhorse stacked 50% of their rigs last week.

As someone with limited knowledge in engineering, can you look at other engineering options (mechanical, civil, electrical, etc) outside of Petroleum?

I'm still doing work in South Texas with little Blue. However they did close my district and moved me to San Antonio a few months back. Not sure what will happen after the merger though. I know we had quite a few job listings a month ago, but they froze everything last week.

Possibly if you have your PE you may get into other engineering. PETE is a huge money maker when times are good or even average, but it's more of a specific degree. Mevhanical engineers work in oil too, but they also learned pumps curves, thermodynamics, machine design, fluids, etc.. Civil can do buildings, bridges, land surveying, roads, etc.. PETE learns to put holes in the ground amd thats about it. If we slow down, and I have time, I'm taking the PE exam and am happy to have an ME degree. But 8 months ago, I would have been making 25k more per year by having the PETE degree.

Petroleum is pretty specific. Chemical and mechanical can get jobs anywhere, but not really specific things like petroleum, naval, bio, etc
