I've done it somewhere before. Can't remember the fast food joint. But caught the mistake. Parked. And walked inside to get my order. They were giggling at me. Oopsie.

Did that once years ago.
I’m probably better off for it, health wise.

No, but I once got busy in one of their bathrooms.

Does not compute

One time when after paying I waited like 20 minutes and never moved up. So hopped the curb and gave up on the order and went to Arby's instead.

In college I had a few too many at the dollar beer night and was in line at taco bell. I ordered 20 crunchy tacos and a mexican pizza meal.
Girl handed me a big arse bag of tacos and said to pull up for the pizza. Drove out. Turned onto street. Immediately caught red light.
She taps on my window...
Most dedicated Taco bell employee ever.

I’ve prepaid for gas a few times and drove off.

I cannot believe Burger King is still in business.

I did it once at Wendy’s after waiting about 20 minutes

I did it at a McDonalds once. I was with my son late at night after an all-day function we had driven several hours to attend. We were exhausted. I paid and started driving off. My son yelled “the food!!” and I stopped in the parking lot. The employee was hanging out the window with the bag. I felt like an idiot. Then got to our hotel and I promptly unwrapped my hamburger and threw it in the trash instead of the wrapper. I just went on to bed at that point.

As a former fast food employee in the late 70's, here's what I would do:
With a bag in my hand, tell the drive-thru customer "your total is $2.50" (remember, late 70's prices)
Customer gives me cash (no credit cards accepted back then) as I hand them their order.
In their haste, I'd hope that the customer would drive off without their change. Sometimes it was less than $1, but other times the customer would pay with a $10 or $20.
If the customer did drive off, and did not return prior to the end of my shift, I'd pocket the money they should have received. My cash drawer would still be correct, and I saw no reason or advantage to further enriching my employer by putting that person's change in my drawer.
At that time, $17.50 (if the customer used a $20) could practically fill a gas tank, or buy a meal at a decent / respectable restaurant. It obviously didn't always work, but it happened often enough that I never stopped trying.

The Burger King in Shalimar Fl has 1 employee. She takes the order, cooks the food and takes it to your car. Pretty sad.

BK consistently has the best deals on the shitty food that is fast food.
Wendy's(biggie bags) and BK(coupons from the mail) are the only places you can still feed a family of 4 for <$20
Times are tough.

I did at the Wendy’s at the end of Vets after waiting 15 minutes for the line to move post paying.
