I don't think it will be bad leaving fl on Friday. It will be bad going the other way

The annual 4th of July Louisiana 500 with all the LA car tags headed east!

Got a young kid and a baby that aren't super easy to travel with. Mobile tunnel has taken me up to an extra 45 minutes to get through. Not a huge deal...but wouldn't mind knowing if better options exist. Sounds like they don't.
I have an infant and a toddler and drive to Florida (Keystone Heights) to visit my parents several times a year. I make the entire trip at night and do all the driving. Everyone sleeps, and I listen to standup comedy albums, make one stop for gas and diaper changes, and sometimes a second stop for the unexpected diaper change. Peaceful, zero traffic.

headed west bound on a Friday you should be fine.
traffic is usually just bad going east through the Wallace.
especially rush hour traffic from like 4-6pm on weekdays.

Just leave early. And be glad you aren't going the other way through mobile Friday.

My cousin takes his sport fisher to Pensacola and Tampa that's a way to bypass the tunnel.

Drove that route this past weekend. Traffic was awful about 3 miles just before the tunnel. Got through it nearly an hour later. I-12 was even worse. Took 2 hours to get back to 10. Safe travels

Youre screwed...... take 90
Posted on 7/2/14 at 9:45 pm to Billder
I always take I-65 N to I-165 to 90 going from BR to FL. It saves a lot of time in the summer when things get backed up.

Kayak: from Biloxi to P'cola is like two hours.
I read it on the TDs.

What about Sunday, 7/6?
The Sunday after the 4th is the worst, even if there are no wrecks.

I usually just take my yacht right into terrebone bay

There are two routes an each has a tunnel. Otherwise you'll go way out of the way.

Left Destin last Saturday at 7:30 am and had no problem getting thru the tunnel. Got thru and there was no traffic going east bound thru the tunnel.
