I'd much rather win when the jackpot is $20 million. Nobody will notice or care. I can bank some and be set for life and donate the rest to good causes.

No disrespect, but many of their clients are well respected, important individuals who have had that money for awhile. You? Not so much.

And that's exactly why I'd want them working with me. They know how to handle situations and people with significant wealth and the discretion that is involved.

Personally, I wouldn't trust them just because they deal with others who have more money.

Why not? They've garnered the reputation because they know what they are doing.

I would tell my immediate family and only trust the professional people that already handle my finances and legal needs to handle the rest.

The first person I would call is my boss and say

see i love my job and my boss

but i feel like i would have to resign

there's no way i would be able to give 100% of my focus to work if i've got $300 million (or whatever it is after taxes) to manage and worry about

if anything i'd probably take a major paycut so that they could hire somebody else on and just work part time because i really do enjoy what i do and couldnt imagine not working at all

How old are you?

These lotto threads really do show how people who win the lotto go broke with the quickness.

50% of the people in these threads talk about how they're gonna spend their first hundred million in a couple of years.

300 million is a shite load of money. It's not enough to live like a fricking billionaire for 40+ years.

Someone in the other thread was talking about how he'd give away like 25% of the take home on day 1 and then make it his full time job to spend the rest. Congrats on being broke <5 years after winning the largest jackpot ever.

$11 million earning 4% gives you $440k/yr. that's "set" IMO.

Something tells me that dude (like almost every lotto winner) would live well above 440k/year.

440k/year is a awesome income. Plenty of people make around that, and they live real well. They aren't ballers though.

Also need to factor in how much your daily life is going to cost. You probably quit your job, so now you have 40-50 hours a week that you need to fill with shite. That's 40-50 hours a week that prior the lotto you were making money. After the lotto thats 40-50 hours a week you're spending money.

Just the opposite. I couldn't even begin to spend that kind of money.

Whoever wins this jackpot will be all over the news and will be hounded by scammers, people with their hand out, marketers, etc. Not worth the headache. If you win a smaller jackpot you still have more than you can possibly spend, but you don't get the publicity and can still live a normal life.
