Ridiculous that was there anyway.

It's a state capital building. We are not a theocracy.

Why should a religious symbol be present on state property? This goes for any and all religions, I'm not singling out Christianity.

Not a surprise. OK was pretty universally chided for installing the statue only a couple of years ago.

I think we need to change the name of San Francisco to just "Frank", wanting to be consistent and all

Just another reason for "look at me" Christians to bitch about being persecuted. "They took away the thing that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. Next thing you know, they'll be feeding us to lions."

I wouldn't let them put them in my classroom. I have several faiths that i teach. Good for them.

SCOTUS is shite. They also ruled in 86 or 87 that states could chose to not allow same sex marriage. They no longer interpret the Constitution. Get ready for Un control

As a Christian, I agree. The separation of Chruch and State is pretty clearly outlined in the Constitution. I do have a problem with revisionists who try to pretend that religious freedom and in particular, Christianity, were not foremost in the founding fathers' minds when the Constitution was written.

SCOTUS has ruled that States are allowed to do so.

The opinions of our high priest council matter little to me. I'm asking why a secular government should tout the teachings or symbols of one religion over another.

If we are to allow the Ten Commandments to be established on state grounds, we must also allow the placement of Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Satanist, Sikh, various Paganisms, etc., to be established. I don't think anyone here would want that.

This is a shame, if people actually read the ten commandments and followed them this country would be better off.

I think it has to do with the whole "...one nation under God" thing.
